7 Reasons Every Igbo Elder Should Join the Project Reposition Ndigbo of the United Igbo Elders Congress Worldwide (UNIEC) The Igbo nation stands at a critical crossroads in history. Our people, scattered across the world, are endowed with ingenuity, resilience, and a spirit of enterprise. Yet, despite these strengths, we continue to suffer political marginalization, cultural dilution, and economic under-representation. It is for this reason that the United Igbo Elders Congress Worldwide (UNIEC) has unveiled the "Project Reposition Ndigbo" — a clarion call for all Igbo Elders, both at home and in the Diaspora, to unite in vision and action. Here are seven compelling reasons why every Igbo Elder should join executing this project: 1. Guardianship of Our Heritage Elders are the living custodians of Igbo tradition, culture, and values. Without their active involvement, our language, customs, and ethos risk erosion in the face of globalization. Joining the project ensures th...

United Igbo Elders Congress Demands Unconditional Release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

UNITED IGBO ELDERS CONGRESS WORLDWIDE (UNIEC) Press Statement on the Unconditional Release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu The United Igbo Elders Congress Worldwide (UNIEC) has watched with grave concern the continued unlawful detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), despite several competent court judgments ordering his release. It is both a tragedy and a national embarrassment that the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria continues to act in open defiance of the rule of law. We categorically demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Anything short of this is a deliberate provocation, a calculated act of injustice, and a stain on Nigeria’s democracy. We ask, in all sincerity and firmness: If confirmed terrorists and bandits are being released, compensated, and rehabilitated in this country, why is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu still languishing in prison? This selective application of justice reeks of bias, ethnic discrimination, a...

Elon Musk’s father accused of sexually abusing children, stepchildren  Sylvia Runor  September 23, 2025 Errol Musk, the 79-year-old father of Elon Musk, has been accused of sexually abusing five of his children and stepchildren since 1993, according to the New York Times. The report said these allegations may explain why Elon Musk rarely speaks about his father. It also noted that some of Musk’s family members have reached out to him for help, leading him to sometimes intervene. Errol Musk denied the claims, telling the Times they were “nonsense” and “false.” Citing personal letters, emails, and interviews with relatives, the Times said Errol Musk, who has at least nine children and stepchildren and has been married three times, “maintains a powerful grip over much of the family.” Elon Musk did not respond to requests for comment. Court documents, correspondence, social workers, and family interviews suggest the earliest allegation came in 1993, when a four-year-old stepdaught...

United Igbo Elders Congress Worldwide (UNIEC) Condemns Monstrous Attack On CAC Church, Eruku

Image
Statement from the United Igbo Elders Congress Worldwide The United Igbo Elders Congress Worldwide condemns—unequivocally and in the strongest terms—the barbaric and brutal attack carried out by armed gunmen on worshippers at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, Kwara State , on the night of November 18, 2025. This horrific incident, in which innocent Christians gathered in a vigil were savagely attacked, is an affront to every principle of humanity, decency, and civilized society. Reports indicate that the attackers opened fire on worshippers, killing at least three congregants and abducting several others, including the pastor. This tragedy shakes the conscience, not only because of the loss of innocent lives, but also because of the chilling nature of the attack. How can it be said that murderers took their time slaughtering old men and women in cold blood—unchallenged? How can such unspeakable evil unfold in a supposedly civilized society without the immediate intervention of sec...

Ngozi Okolie, has raised fresh concerns over the worsening state of major federal roads in Delta State, describing them as “lifelines now failing at great human and economic cost.” Speaking in a statement yesterday, Okolie highlighted three critical corridors — the Asaba-Illah-Ebu-Ubiaja Road, the Asaba-Onitsha Expressway, and the Okpanam-Asaba Highway — all of which he said have deteriorated into death traps despite repeated parliamentary interventions. “These roads are not just infrastructure; they are lifelines that connect people, communities, and economies,” Okolie declared. “Yet today, they stand as stark reminders that government promises must be matched...
